The 13th annual Texasota Independence Jam takes place Friday July 5, 2019 at Island Lake Park Pavilion, located at 7204 Rice Lake Road. This will be the second year the decade-old gathering of friends and family will be open to the public.
Tradition teams up two states once again for a meeting of Minnesota and Texas musicians. Beginning with a band of relatives, the Carlson Family and Friends provide the Duluth-based foundation for the fest as the first act of the night. Harmony-driven and string-filled alt-country outfit Emily Haavik & the 35s take the stage next for a double dose of Duluth talent. The fun continues with The Federales - pickers, fiddlers, and groovers making their way from Minneapolis to play classic country for the modern world. With his unique voice and soulful sound, Americana singer-songwriter Zach Nytomt from Austin follows as the first true Texan in the lineup. The Hill Country Hustlers serve as backing band for some of the best songwriters and performers in Austin and will share headlining duties with Duluth’s rock ’n country soul project Steven James and The Revival. The Texasota Independence Jam will begin at 3:30pm, music starts at 5pm and the party ends around 11pm.
