"Big Cedar Fever is a string swing band out of central Texas that specializes in Western swing and jazz. Three part harmonies and tight musical arrangements draw listeners in, only to be taken away by the classic style and lyrics that recall another time and place.
Formed in January of 2018, the trio includes Georgia Parker on jazz-box guitar, Ian Lee on fiddle, and Nick Lochman on the upright bass. With all three sharing vocal duties and trading instrumental solos, this is a group whose constant harmony is right up there with their prowess as a dance band. The up-and-comers have played host to crowds of Lindy hoppers, Texas two-steppers, and Western swing dancers. In their short time together they have also been at home in listening room environments, providing intimate sets that showcase a true love for the history of the music."

Austin’s Jackie Myers may have the Midas touch for groove, conjuring up musical styles ranging from soul, jazz and modern R&B each time the talented pianist places her hands on the keys. The finesse on her chosen instrument plays complement to what the Austin Chronicle describes as “her earthy lungs” - beautiful, captivating, complex, and always with an edge.
2017 sees Myers producing a new album for fellow Austinite’s The Lonesome Heroes, performing on an upcoming Daytrotter session, debuting her first movie score for a series of Buster Keaton shorts, a live recreation of Carole King’s Tapestry at Stubb's, and playing at all manner of clubs, venues, and festivals across the country. A follow up to Third! is also set for release later this year.

Either serendipitously or by clever design, San Marcos’ The Railhouse Band seemed to know what lay ahead when christening their debut EP Coming Out Swingin’. The young group began performing Western swing and traditional country at venues alongside the railroad tracks of Central Texas in mid-2016; an origin story not only folkloric in nature but helpful in determining their name.
For The Railhouse Band, looking forward may be just as exciting as looking back upon the great dance music of yesteryear. The group - made up of Candler Wilkinson IV on guitar and vocals, Elijah Stone on fiddle, Curtis Clogston on pedal steel, Jackie Myers on piano, Nick Lochman on the upright bass, and Dave Sims Jr. on drums - are set to release a live album recorded from their Cheatham Street Warehouse residency as well as perform at this summer’s Kerrville Folk Festival. Definitely ones not to miss, Lone Star Music Magazine offers this advice on The Railhouse Band - “If it’s the real no-foolin’ deal you’re looking for, rest assured they bring it in spades."

"As a child of the rural American West and owning lineage within the Chippewa Indian tribe, Leo Rondeau’s narrative finds roots in the Turtle Mountains of North Dakota and draws inspira:on from myriad musical influences including Hank Williams, The Flying Burrito Brothers and Townes Van Zandt. For this project, the Nashville-based Rondeau delivers a stalwart, :meless tribute to devo:on, loss and atonement, all through the dis:nct voice of a modern country troubadour unafraid to explore life’s somber reali:es while illumina:ng subtle hope within.
Recorded in Nashville, TN at Bomb Shelter Studios, Right On Time was produced by Andrija Tokic (Alabama Shakes, Hurray For The Riff Raff, Phosphorescent) and features nine original tracks and one Blaze Foley cover tune. Rondeau enlisted help from a handful of notable Nashville and Aus:n players including Pete Weiss (keys/accordion); Gary Newcomb (guitars/pedal steel); Jeff Ratner (bass) and Aaron Shafer-Haiss (drums/ mandolin). Margo Price, Alexis Saski and Vaughn Walters lend a hand on vocals."

"Ruby Boots’ music will stop you in your tracks. The rising Australian star, now based in Nashville TN, possesses a red wine-stained soulful voice that crackles with swagger and sorrow. Her fiercely honest lyrics strike deep into your heart while her music delivers an alluring mix of Americana, Rock, Folk and Blues. Leaving home at a young age, to work on pearling boats, is where she found the distance, space and time needed to hone her songwriting skills.
Her first full-length, Solitude has been hailed as “a landmark Australian release” and a “world class debut,” while scoring her a Song of The Year award for lead-single, ’Wrap Me In A Fever.’ The ten tunes that populate ‘Solitude’ wrestle with universal themes filtered through Ruby’s captivating combination of vulnerability and strength. She displays an artistic confidence and emotional candour that evokes her heroes like Lucinda Williams as well as such Americana contemporaries as Nikki Lane and Shovels & Rope."

Jeff Rymes’ former quartet The Lonesome Strangers originated in “the roots music explosion that took place in Southern California during the ‘80s” and have been described by AllMusic as “one of California's most influential bands.” Now, 20 years since the Strangers’ last release, Rymes has returned to serious musical pursuits with his solo debut, Even If The Sun Don’t Shine, picking up where he left off with a collection of songs from the highways and byways of life's road trip.
“It was a thrill to be back in Southern California making music. I felt like I was doing something new and reconnecting with the past at the same time,” says Rymes, who was encouraged by longtime friend and producer Taras Prodaniuk (Dwight Yoakam, Lucinda Williams) to record Even If The Sun Don’t Shine at SlideAway Studio in Shadow Hills. The 11 songs were cut in a decidedly “old school” manner on 2-inch analog tape and feature several contemporaries from Rymes’ Strangers days. A combination of camaraderie and creativity sparks the entire album, as Rymes’ reunion with recording plays more like a welcome home party, with the shared excitement of old friends getting back to the heart of American roots through a mix of compelling styles.
